My front yard is a combination of fescue (in the shade) and zoysia (in the sun). It looks funny in the winter and I'm thinking of sewing fescue on the entire lawn. Digging up the zoysia would be a monumental task. Can I sew fescue seed in with the zoysia grass?

You can overseed your Zoysia grass. It's a warm weather grass which looks good in the summer but not so good in the winter when the weather is cool. Fescue is a cool season grass that peters out in the heat of summer. Overseeding your entire lawn will give it a more uniform color. Best wishes with your lawn!
