The Q&A Archives: Aeration of new lawn.

Question: I installed emerald zoysia last summer. Do I need to aerate the lawn this season.

Answer: You won't need to aerate your lawn for another 3-4 years. Aeration helps with compacted soils. If you properly prepared the soil prior to laying the sod, it should not yet be compacted and you can wait at least 3 years before having to aerate it. Enjoy your new lawn!
