I am a beginer @ any type of gardening or taking care of plants. I planted bulbs in a rectanglar shape pot, I used regular soil. I planted them now (FEB) & about 6 inches deep. Fertilize them & watered them. Is that how you do it?

Tulip bulbs are planted in the fall (October) so they can experience a winter chill and have time to develop a root system before the leaves and flowers emerge in the spring. Your bulbs may produce leaves this year but they probably won't flower for you because they won't have a healthy root system. If you leave them in the ground they will develop roots and be ready to grow and flower for you next spring. Enjoy!
