I like a green lawn but don't like poisoning squirrels and birds to get it. Any thoughts on what's the best, cheapest and easiest to use?

The best organic lawn fertilizer would be compost or aged manure, spread lightly over the entire lawn. If you don't make your own compost from garden wastes you can purchase bagged compost at your local garden center. Spring is the best time to apply. Enjoy your garden!
