| Have Australian flax (very large)that needs to be removed. What is the best way to do this? What kind of root system does it have? Thanks. |
| You'll find the majority of the roots directly beneath the clump of Australian flax, usually in the top 12-18 inches of soil. Start digging at the edge of the clump and dig straight down. You'll find fibrous roots around the perimeter of the clump and some rather large rhizomes toward the center. If it will help, you can prune the tops of the plants way back prior to digging, just to make the process easier. Best wishes with your project! |
