The best time to do aeration is when the lawn is actively growing. Early spring is a good time. Or early fall, as soon as the weather has cooled a bit from summer's high temperatures and there are seasonal rains, is also a great time in your area. Be sure to use a machine that pulls up plugs or cores rather than one with spikes that just punch holes. Good luck with your lawn!
