| Various softleafed gingers, heliconias and curcoma were hit by a one night frost here in Naples, FL. The leaves are all brown and shrivelled up. Do I cut the stalks down to the ground or just remove the dead leaves from the stalks for best new growth to start? |
| If you prune back the plants they should produce healthy new growth in a few weeks, providing the roots did not freeze. Let's hope for the best! Cut them down to just above ground level if they are badly damaged, or at least cut the stalks down to just below the damaged parts. Best wishes with your plants! |
