I noticed that my planters are full of tulip and Daffodil sprouts. Will they be safe in cold weather, ice and snow? I thought about covering them bu am not sure I should.

I wouldn't worry about your daffodils and tulips coming up early. They will stall where they are until real warm weather of spring hits. Until then, if you are still concerned you can mulch the bed with hay or straw about 4 thick. That will keep it cool in the soil and pervent any more growth until it's time.
