I'm looking for fall planting bulbs that produce small deep blue flowers. (I think they're called Scilla and they're covering all the lawns in Evanston, IL). When are they available and do you have a picture to make sure we're talking about the same plant?

You could be talking about a few different flowers. Three that come to mind are Scilla nutans (English Bluebells), Scilla siberica (Spring Beauty) and Muscari armeniacum (Grape Hyacinths). Call Burpee at 1-800-888-1447 and request to be put on the mailing list for their bulb catalog. These bulbs are planted in the fall so you'll have plenty of time to order, and the catalog will have the pictures you're looking for.
