We had a hard freeze in Florida. When do I cut back the dead banana leaves, and do I cut back the trunk as well-or just leave it alone?

Cut the trunk down to just above ground level and your banana plant will grow a new trunk. If you simply cut off the leaves, you'll have a bare trunk with new growth only at the top. In other regions of the country, banana plants are regularly cut down to ground level and regrow very quickly. Best wishes with your landscape!
