Bahia grass needs all day sunshine. In fact, unless you have at least 1/2 day of sun in your backyard, grasses simply won't thrive. You might want to grow groundcovers and use mulch instead. Try groundcovers such as wild ginger, goutweed, ivy or pachysandra and mulch heavily traveled areas with bark mulch. This will keep things looking nice and green - and you won't have to mow! Enjoy your landscape.
