I have a dendrobium whose stems are oozing sap Is this normal? Should I leave it alone or clean it off of the stem? |
It's normal for orchids such as Dendrobiums, Oncidiums and Cattleyas to produce honey on the flower stem. Mother nature built in the sap producing process to help the orchid attract insects for pollination. Orchids rely on insects to pollinate the flowers for the continuation of the species. Leave it alone and it will dry up on its own. Best wishes with your dendrobium! |
