The Q&A Archives: Palmyra

Question: I was given some palmyra, but have no idea of how to care for them. I can find no references online.

Answer: Palmyra palms are botanically Borassus flabellifer. They are native to Asia and are similar in appearance to Mexican fan palms. They grow best in full sunshine and thrive in heat and high humidity. They aren't always successful in California, but they're worth a try. Best wishes with your palmyra!
