The Q&A Archives: Combining Crops

Question: Can potatoes and summer squash be successfully raised from the same hilled row planting ?

Answer: Squash takes a lot more room than do potatoes. You could plant squash on one end of the row and potatoes on the other end. I space my squash about 36" apart in the row and rows 36" apart. Potatoes need only 28 to 30 inches between rows.
