I bought 2 White Bird of Paridise plants and was wondering if i planted them on the ground inside their pots if they would stay on the smaller side?

Keeping the roots confined will retard the growth of your plant but eventually you'll need to repot into a larger pot or the roots will break the pot (this includes plastic, terra cotta and seamed metal pots). If you have only a small space, there are dwarf varieties available. Perhaps you can exchange your full sized plants?
