| I planted it a year ago, it's small, little growth and yellow in color. Does rootball have to be above ground? Is that the problem? Soil is sandy and have trouble maintaining moisture in this area. |
| Scotch broom typically thrives in dry soils, in full sunshine. If yours looks sickly, it may be planted too deeply or is not getting enough sunshine. A year is a long time to wait for results so I would dig it up, amend the planting hole with some organic matter and then replant it. Try to plant it so the crown or beginning of the root system is just beneath the soil surface. Then water it in well and water once a week during the growing season. As long as it has sunshine and weekly water it should root well and produce flowers. Best wishes with your plant! |
