I am doing a science fair project on what conditions affect the way marigolds sprout. If I were to soak seeds in a combination of water and lemon juice would anything happen?

That sounds like a good subject for an experiment. Honestly, I don't know. I imagine that soaking the seeds in regular water would speed germination over unsoaked seeds; I don't know if adding lemon juice to the water would speed, slow, or have no effect on the relative speed of germination. I would guess that the seeds soaked in lemon juice would sprout faster than unsoaked seeds, but I don't know if they would differ from seeds soaked in regular water. Why not give it a try?
