There are many small shrubs to choose from. For sunny spots, Carissa grandiflora 'Nana', the dwarf natal plum, produces white flowers and Cuphea hyssopifolia, or Cuphea, has red or white flowers. Rhododendron obtusum (Kurume hybrid azaleas) grows best in a partially sunny location; Gardenia ugusta 'Radicans' grows best in afternoon shade. All will grow from 2-5 feet high and wide.

Best wishes with your new shrubs!
