The Q&A Archives: Magnolias trees

Question: Our magnolia trees have about 4 feet and are like dying. They have bloomed for the last 2 years and this year the buts die before they get to bloom.

Answer: The unopened buds are probably weather related. Magnolia trees bloom in the early to mid-spring and sometimes bud before the last frost, causing the buds to darken and fall off of the tree. With any luck, the weather will be perfect for your tree next spring and you will see flowers. Hope so!
