Question: We live in southeastern Utah, where the summers are very hot. They say we are Zone 5-6 but we are in the "desert" area. What varieties thrive in Hot desert environment? ALSO, what is good ground covers that support dirt on slopes/hill sides? Trees?? We have chosen Maple, Evergreens, willow, dogwoods, arboritieum?, junipers and spruce & birch trees.
