There are a lot of weeds in my yard, I am thinking of spraying weed killer, how long does it last typically? Do I have to do this yearly? Thanks.

There are no real ways of keeping weeds out of your garden but you can make it more difficult for them to become established by covering bare earth with weed barrier fabric and helping your lawn become thick and healthy through a regular watering, mowing and feeding schedule. For now, dig out the weeds and place weed barrier in your flower garden areas and begin feeding your lawn to help it grow lush and thick. Use a 3-1-2 formula of nitrogen, phosphorous and potassium and apply in April, June, September and late November. By the end of the summer you should see fewer weeds and a healthier landscape. Enjoy!
