Is it too early to prune small fruit trees such as apple, pear and fig trees?
They are just beginning to bud!

It is actually almost too late to prune your trees but if you do it right now you should be safe. Fruit trees should be pruned in the winter when they are dormant. Mark your calendar for next February and prune them then. Annual pruning will keep them under control and productive. Enjoy the fruits of your labor!
