Insecticides are usually specific to the pest and are not normally applied before you see any pests. You can reduce the number of overwintering pests on your trees by using a dormant spray (horticultural oil) which will suffocate any eggs present on the branches of your trees. Wait until you actually see destructive pests on your trees, then identify them (or have them identified for you) then choose the most appropriate spray to eliminate them. Best wishes with your trees!
