Answer: Water lilies grow with their roots submerged 12 to 18 inches into the water. You will need to anchor the tuber down with gravel so it doesn't float to the top of the container. My only concern is that they need sunshine in order to flower. But, if your bathroom has lots of natural light, it may bloom for you. So, choose a container that is at least 12 inches deep, set some gravel in the bottom so the roots have someplace to grow, set the tuber on top and then place several inches of gravel on top of the tuber. Fill the container with water and watch as new stems and leaves grow upwards to the water surface. Hope your water lily blooms for you!
