The Q&A Archives: foxtail palm

Question: my foxtail has new shoots coming out that are very smal only about 5 inches long the shoots are green but seem like the growth is stunted it was planted 1 year ago, its about 12 feet tall and all the ne shoots are small

Answer: The problem may be weather related. Extreme cold or freezing weather can stunt the fronds. As long as the new growth is green, I think your foxtail will be okay. Just give it time to recover. Best wishes with your palm!
