| Start by cutting into small pieces the material you place into the pile. A hot compost pile decomposes faster than a cold one so keep working the compost by turning it over every few days. Compost piles generate heat in the center of the pile so move the center to the edges and the cold edges to the center. This will help it cook faster. Aside from the above, it just takes time for organic matter to decompose. |
