Answer: Glyphosate (Round-up) is a non-selective herbicide and will kill grasses as well as broadleaf weeds by systemic (going to roots) action. It has no residual dangers and binds to soil particles when it reaches the soil. It begins to breakdown almost immediately when coming into contact with soil microbes and will not "leach" into the water table or travel to other areas of the garden.
