The Q&A Archives: how to weed control for newly seed area

Question: My husband tried to start from scatch by seeding a patch of our lawn. Grass has not yet grow out but weed already begin. What can we do in this case?

Answer: Since you're waiting for the grass seed to germinate, hand pulling is your best weed control option. Get them while they are small and easy to pull (roots and all). When the grass finally comes in, it should grow thick enough to crowd out any future weeds. Best wishes with your lawn!
