When is the best time to prune my blue hydrangeas? They are taking over my perennial garden. I don't want to damage this year's blooms. |
If your garden is coming to life, you can prune your hydrangea now. It blooms on new growth and pruning encourages new growth so you should have lots of flowers later this spring. If your hydrangea has already begun to grow and you can already see flower buds, wait until after flowering has finished to prune it back. Enjoy! |
