Plants that are deer resistant and shade tolerant are generally plants native to your particular growing region. Your Cooperative Extension office may have a list of deer resistant, shade tolerant plants, but the truth is, hungry deer will eat almost anything if competition for food is high. One plant that seems to thrive inspite of it all is Nandina, or Heavenly Bamboo. It's great for privacy, needs little care, grows in shade and deer tend to avoid it. So, it might be just the plant for your landscape. Hope so!
