The Q&A Archives: Petunias in Hanging Baskets

Question: I recently ordered 12 'Purpl Wave' petunia plants. I was wondering how many plants you would recommend planting in a 14 inch hanging basket.

Answer: I would go with 5 plants, with 4 evenly spaced around the perimeter and one in the middle. Each plant will grow quite large, and will soon fill the basket and begin cascading down the sides. I can just picture your basket, filled with those showy blooms!
