When I bring the bromeliads home from the store they are brightly colored. Within a few weeks, they fade. How can I bring the color back?

Your new bromeliads were grown under perfect greenhouse conditions prior to being shipped to the store. This means proper light, water and fertilizer. Usually, too much light can be the culprit if the plant's color starts fading or "bleaching". Bromeliads will grow under low light conditions so perhaps you are giving your plant too much light. Move it to a place of less intense light and it should respond with more vivid colors.
