All of my cone flowers went from healthy green foliage to black last summer. Can I do anything now to prevent this from happening this season?

Echinacea sp. (Coneflower) may get Pseudomanas or Xanthomonas leaf spot. Both are bacterial diseases. Sanitation is the main control for these leaf spots. Plant your Echinacea in a different garden spot this year, be sure to provide lots of sunshine and plenty of air circulation, and keep water off the foliage. Your plants should be disease free this year.
