| I planted some bulbs not knowing if they would grow. They are growing and most of plants have blooms. Do I have to do anything special to make sure they come back next spring. |
| What a surprise! Congratulations! The best thing you can do for your daffodils is to enjoy their blooms while they last but then cut the flowering stem off when the flower is spent. Leave the foliage alone, though. The leaves transport energy back to the bulb for the following year's floral display so it is important to allow the leaves to die off on their own. Once the foliage has turned crispy brown you can cut it away at soil level. Next spring your bulbs will sprout and flower right on schedule. Enjoy! |
