My husband and I recently moved into our first house in the Yakima Valley. We would like to plant some kind of evergreen shrub between our home and our neighbors. It is an area of about 150 to 200 feet. What do you suggest for our area and what kind of care do they require?

Juniper or arborvitae shrubs make excellent privacy screens. For even more ideas, visit the Yakima Arboretum (1401 Arboretum Drive, Yakima, Washington 98901). In addition to hundreds of mature plants on display, they offer lots of classes and lectures so you can become familiar with the growing region. Hope you find it helpful!
