The Q&A Archives: What Rose to buy?

Question: What is the best Rose to purchase if i am trying to get alot of Roses to grow on a trellis. A Rose that always has alot of flowers.
Such as the one you pictured on the arbor example on this site.

Answer: You are looking for a vigorous climbing rose. Here are a few suggestions:
Fourth of July: An explosion of eye-popping color for the landscape is just the beginning of the festivities ahead from this fragrant climber. You'll get a bang out of the big sprays of large long-lasting blossoms (Velvety red Striped with bright white). And the fireworks just seem to keep coming because it blooms and reblooms readily in the very first season. Sparkling green foliage, superb vigor and good hardiness complete the spectacle. The first Climber to take the coveted AARS award in 23 years.

Sky's the Limit: One of the most beautifully ?clothed? Climbers around, Sky?s the Limit invites you to look down at her lovely plant?and look up at her scads of colorful clusters. Reblooming well in the very first season, she?ll skyrocket in growth to quickly establish that perfect climbing effect on a trellis, fence or wall. Unusually hardy (especially for a yellow) and so very full of clean green leaves, she?s sky high above other yellow Climbers.

Pearly Gates: Here's a heavenly honey of a hard-to-come-by hue in Climbing roses?.pure pastel pink. Just like it's 'Mom', America, she's got big gorgeous well-formed flowers saturated with sweet spicy perfume. Same foliage and growth habit, too. But the difference is the angelic soft pink color. Blooms on new and old wood.

Valentines Day: My love is like a red, red rose?and there ain't no redder red than this lovely little Climber. Clusters of double blossoms are the same clear velvet red from bud to finish. The look of love is complimented by very dark green clean leaves. Blooms & repeat blooms in the very first year on new & old wood. Ideal for low fences, balcony accents or a decorative trellis in a showy container.

There are many others from which to choose!
