setting it on a tray filled with pebbles and then keeping a half inch of water in the tray. As the water evaporates it will increase the humidity around your bromeliad. THIS WAS YOUR SUGGESTION. CAN THE PEBBLES BE ON THE SAME TRAY WERE THE WATER DRAIN FROM THE POT? IF IN THE SAME TRAY, THIS WONT BE BAD FOR THE PLANT? THE WATER IN THE TRAY WILL KEEP THE BOTTOM WET. |
Good question! Sorry I wasn't very clear about the pebble filled tray. The bottom of the pot the bromeliad is in should be elevated slightly so the excess water can drain from the pot into the tray. Otherwise the roots will remain too wet. Set the pot on a couple of stones, then fill the tray with gravel and keep about a half inch of water in it at all times. Good luck with your bromeliad! |
