We are eager to start our garden so I have bought some seeds and some plants. I know I shouldn't plant in the ground till the middle of April with most plants but I bought some Broccoli plants and am wondering about how much sunlight and water they will need? Also when do you recommend to start planting our vegetable garden and our flower garden?

Broccoli is a cool season plant and can go outdoors much earlier than your other vegetables. You can plant now and plant up to April 25. Plants set out after this time won't be able to mature before hot weather arrives. So plant your broccoli in the garden now. If temperatures threaten to dip below about 40F, place temporary frost protection over the plants. Everything else can be planted about the middle of April.

Enjoy your garden!
