The Q&A Archives: Hydrangea care

Question: What is the best time to prune hydrangeas & best way to do to insure maximum bloom? Thanks

Answer: The most commonly grown garden hydrangeas produce flowers on new growth so pruning them back in the early spring will encourage lots of new growth and each new stem should produce a flower. I would prune them back now.
