The Q&A Archives: Apple & Pear trees

Question: Last year of my two apple trees only one had flowers, about 100. ten produced apples. The other tree, plus the Pear tree had nothing. What should I do to get better results?

Answer: Both apples and pears produce heavier crops if cross pollinated with a different cultivar. If you know the names of your fruit trees you can find a suitable pollinizer and plant it; if you do not know the names of your trees, find trees that bloom at the same time as your current trees and plant them. Hope this does the trick!
