I am planning to plant mostly tomato plants, along with some cucumber and zucchini. I am considering putting wood stove ashes on or in the soil when I plant my veggies. Will this help or hinder my plants? |
Wood ashes are a good source of potash and calcium, but we don't recommend you use more than 25 pounds per 1,000 square feet of garden space, and they should only be applied every 2-3 years. Spread the ashes on the garden and dig or rototill them in before planting your veggies. |
