I have a small area in the front yard that is in total shade. Are there plants or grass seed that I can plant there?

Grass won't grow well in the shade so I would recommend one or more of the following shade tolerant Texas natives:

Cardinal Flower; Inland Sea Oats; Cedar Sage; Beautyberry; Lyre Leaf Sage; Mountain Sage; Pigeonberry; Thoroughwort; Prairie Phlox; Purple Winecup; Red Columbine; White Winecup; Violet; Katie Petunia; Turk's Cap; River Fern or Yellow Columbine.

Best wishes with your garden!
