The Q&A Archives: Trim Forsythias

Question: My forsythias have overgrown their area. When is a good time to trim them down? Should I fertilize them? They are probably 20 yrs old.
Thank you.

Answer: Wait until after your forsythias have finished blooming and then prune them back. As long as they are growing well, they do not need fertilizer. Enjoy your garden!
