Trim Forsythias - Knowledgebase Question

My forsythias have overgrown their area. When is a good time to trim them down? Should I fertilize them? They are probably 20 yrs old.

Wait until after your forsythias have finished blooming and then prune them back. As long as they are growing well, they do not need fertilizer. Enjoy your garden!
