The Q&A Archives: Pruning holly

Question: When is the best time to prune holly and still have berries on the female shrubs?

Answer: Prune in late winter or early spring, before your hollies flower and you should still get berries this fall and winter. If you wait until after the plants flower and then prune, you will prune off this year's berries. Good luck with your hollies!
