| The purpose of a cool and dark storage place for your dahlias and cannas is to keep them from sprouting prematurely and to keep them from dehydrating. Choose the coolest place that remains above freezing to store them. If they don't perform well after storage you may have to consider them annuals and instead of digging and storing just toss the plants at the end of the growing season.
