The Q&A Archives: When to put in new bushes

Question: Last year I started Lilacs and other bushes in containers and brought them indoors during the winter. When is the best time to plant them outside - after the last frost or can it be done sooner?

Answer: If your plants have been indoors all winter they will need to have warm conditions when they go outside. Wait at least 2 weeks after your last frost, or when temperatures remain above 50F during the night. Best wishes with your plants!
