my lawn has two kinds of grass and looks ragged the day after I mow it because one kind of grass grows faster than the other. someone said I have fescue. whatever it is, is not killed by weed & feed or broadleaf weed killers. do I kill everything and start over or can this lawn be saved?

If the tall fescue is trying to overtake your lawn, I would encourage it by overseeding with additional tall fescue seeds. Tall fescue is more shade and foot traffic tolerant so in my book, it's the best turf to grow.
