when to shape shrubs? - Knowledgebase Question

My husband wants to cut all shrubs now before they bloom, is it a good time late march, early April. evergreens, azaleas, hydrangelas, and rhododendrums. Hope you answer in time!

If you prune spring blooming shrubs now, you will lose all of the floral display for this year. Wait until after the shrubs have finished blooming and prune them back then. This will give them all summer to recover and to develop flower buds for next spring's floral display. Hope you get this in time!
