I have two large Ash trees in front yard here in central Texas. Grass has died over the past two years under the trees. Had Burmuda, now have DIRT. Do I have to re-sod and what kind of grass is best under trees in my area? Thanks

I'm afraid there are not many grasses adaptable to dry, shady conditions such as you might find under mature trees. Tall fescues are the most shade tolerant of grasses but they will need to be reseeded every few years. An alternative would be to plant a ground cover rather than turf in that area.

Best wishes with your lawn!
