The Q&A Archives: Berries

Question: I live in northern colorado and am planting berries for the first time. I have already decided to plant some bare root black berries and am considering planting some black rasberries (red ones out of stock already Sad ) Anyway I want to know if they will all turn out black berries or if I will be able to taste the difference in the raspberries.

Answer: There is a difference in both fruit size and flavor between blackberries and raspberries so you will be able to taste the difference. Raspberries are classified by fruit color and/or fruiting habit. There are red, black, purple, or yellow-fruited types and they taste like raspberries.
